(MIDLAND, Mich.) — Northwood University will recognize the accomplishments of Thomas Moran, chief executive officer and founder of Moran Iron Works and the founder of Industrial Arts Institute, with a 2017 Outstanding Business Leader Award. Moran was selected for his contributions to education, community involvement, personal and professional success, and dedication to Northwood’s philosophy.
“For 37 years, Northwood University has honored business leaders for their contributions to our nation and to the world,” said Keith Pretty, Northwood University president and CEO. “Tom Moran is a leader committed to seeing people succeed at every level in their lives, and serves as an exceptional role model for Northwood’s students.”
Outstanding Business Leader Award recipients exemplify success in business, their community and in their personal lives. They will be recognized at an awards gala on March 4 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. Proceeds from the annual awards gala are contributed to the Outstanding Business Leaders Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides assistance to students with financial need and academic merit at Northwood University.
