Tappan Zee tugboat sinks in high winds and swells

(UPPER NYACK, N.Y.) — A tugboat deployed for the Tappan Zee Bridge project sank at its mooring Sunday in high winds and swells, The Journal News reported. No one was aboard Prospector when it took on water at the Petersen Boat Yard and Marina on the Hudson River. A spokeswoman for Tappan Zee Constructors said the incident was related to winds that were gusting to 85 mph, causing swells of up to 8 feet.
