(FAIRFAX, Va.) — Swiftships LLC has completed two 148-foot MPSVs (multi-purpose support and maintenance vessels) for the South Oil Company in Iraq. The boats will support maintenance activities for the single point mooring stations in the northern Arabian Gulf.
These activities will assist in the oil exploration and production of the country and its oilfield services support sector. The boats were built and classed by Bureau Veritas. The vessels were transported by heavy lift ship and reactivated in Dubai.
The commercial program follows the successful projects Swiftships has completed for the Iraqi navy patrol vessel construction program and a full life cycle maintenance and support program that is currently ongoing.
