(THROGS NECK, NY – MAY 16, 2008) – The State University of New York Maritime College will salute leading members of the United States maritime industry at the college’s annual Admiral’s Scholarship Dinner. The event will be held on the College’s waterfront campus in Throgs Neck, New York. ESPN Sailing Analyst and former America’s Cup sailor Gary Jobson will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
Admiral John W. Craine Jr., USN (Ret.) announced that the College would present two individual awards to honor recognized leaders of the maritime industry as well as one corporate maritime leader.
The two honorees for the 2008 Admiral’s Scholarship Dinner Awards are both Maritime College graduates. They are: Celebrity Cruise Lines & Azamara Cruise Lines Senior Vice President of Marine Operations John Krousouloudis, Maritime College, class of 1976, and Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. Senior Vice President & Head of Shipping Operations, Captain Robert Johnston, Maritime College, Class of 1969. The corporate award for excellence will be presented to Mallory Jones Lynch Flynn & Associates, Inc., one of the world’s leading shipping companies.
