(ST. CATHARINES, Ontario) — A strike that would have closed the St. Lawrence Seaway has been averted, the Canadian Press reported. The union and management have reached an agreement. The union promises there will be no labor disruption while its members in Quebec and Ontario vote on the agreement over the next 10 days.
