Ship company sues its own cargo in Virginia admiralty case

(NORFOLK, Va.) — The ship company Barna Conshipping is suing its own cargo because the unwanted shipment has run up $545,000 in chartering fees while at anchorage, the Virginian-Pilot reported. The Saturnus was carrying a load of steel, but the Texas company it was destined for refused to accept it. Ship agent Hasler Group has been trying to arrange for the abandoned cargo to be offloaded at a local pier.
