Seaspan begins work on first of three fisheries ships for Canada

(NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — Seaspan has started construction on the first of three new fisheries ships for the Canadian Coast Guard, CBC News reported. The new science vessel, which will be named CCGS Sir John Franklin after the British explorer, is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2017. The overall budget for the three-ship project is $687 million.
