Sea Star Line's ex-president convicted of conspiracy in Puerto Rico price-fixing case

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) — Former Sea Star Line LLC President Frank Peake has been convicted in the ongoing Puerto Rico price-fixing case, the Jacksonville Business Journal newspaper reported. The conspiracy conviction followed a two-week trial, with sentencing to be determined later. According to guilty pleas and investigators' statements, Sea Star and at least two other maritime shipping carriers agreed to fix rates and surcharges for moving cargo between the U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico for at least six years.
