Sea Machines hires Jim Daly as chief operating officer

(BOSTON) — Jim Daly has joined Sea Machines Robotics as chief operating officer.

 Sea Machines is a leader in the emerging space of smart ship technology. The Boston-based company is building autonomous control technology for commercial vessels which will herald a smarter, safer and more efficient era of marine operations.

Daly was previously chief operating officer and an early member of the leadership team at Rethink Robotics, where he successfully scaled operations from technology concept through first and second-generation products. He most recently led the Sawyer robot product development project from conception through design, launch and global customer deployment. He held earlier senior leadership roles at startups Zeemote, Tea Forte and Handspring, and was a division manager at Solectron Corp. Daly earned a bachelor of science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master of business administration degree from Santa Clara University. He serves on the advisory board for robotics engineering at WPI.
