Report: New York dropping plans for offshore wind farm in Lake Erie

(ALBANY, N.Y.) — The New York Power Authority has decided not to develop an offshore wind farm in Lake Erie, the Buffalo News newspaper reported. A state legislator said the agency is looking at other types of energy development that will not be as costly. The power authority had asked for bids to install a 150-turbine farm near the Buffalo shoreline.
