Report: Costa Concordia captain caused, exacerbated fatal sinking

(ROME) — An Italian investigative report attributes the Costa Concordia disaster to human error by the captain, the Daily Mail newspaper reported. The captain used a wrong landmark to turn the cruise ship, and he waited 30 minutes to give a distress call. Even when we did talk to the coastguard, he played down the seriousness of the incident.
