(ASTORIA, Ore.) — The U.S. Coast Guard is restructuring in the Pacific Northwest to create a new Sector Columbia River, The Daily Astorian newspaper reported. About 35 new jobs will be gained in Astoria, as river closures and more security functions will be controlled locally. Portland will lose some Coast Guard operations.
