Regency Cruise founder may acquire SeaEscape gambling ship

(FORT LAUDERDALE) — The beleaguered SeaEscape gambling ship was sold at auction, but the winning bidder may end up selling it to the runner-up, the Miami Herald newspaper reported. Anastasios Kyriakides, founder of the now-defunct Regency Cruise Line, may acquire the vessel in exchange for a promise to make a charitable donation along with the purchase price. Kyriakides, who plans to send the ship to Europe, initially was outbid by Miami Arena owner Glenn Straub, who offered $3.6 million.
