Pilot’s sleep disorder probed in Cosco Busan incident

(SAN FRANCISCO) —  The Coast Guard is investigating whether the pilot’s use of a prescription drug to treat sleep apnea may have been a factor in last year’s accident involving the Cosco Busan, the Associated Press reported. The disorder and certain prescription medicines can leave the patient feeling fatigued during the day. The pilot passed his most recent state-mandated physical 10 months ago.
