(BAY OF CAMPECHE, Gulf of Mexico) — At least one person was killed and 16 were injured early Wednesday after a fire broke out on a Pemex oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico, Reuters reported. Pemex said 300 workers were evacuated and eight firefighting vessels were on the scene. The fire broke out in the dehydration and pumping area of the Abkatun Permanente platform, though it was not clear what caused it, the company said.
