Pearl Seas disputes cause of newbuild delay at Halifax

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) — Pearl Seas Cruises says the delay in constructing its newest ship is being caused by a manpower shortage and other internal issues at the shipyard, the Chronicle Herald newspaper reported. Earlier, officials from Irving Shipbuilding Inc. attributed the delay to showness in receiving engineering plans from the cruiselines. The Connecticut-based cruiseline’s new 214-passenger vessel was supposed to begin voyages this summer but won’t be ready until next spring instead.
