(PHILADELPHIA) — The SS United States Conservancy has launched what it calls a final effort to save the historic steamship from the scrap yard, The New York Times reported. Saying the ship could be only months away from being broken up, the conservancy is in talks with three developers about its potential to become a hotel, museum, retail complex, conference center, educational facility or some combination of all of those options. Redevelopment is expected to cost $170 million to $300 million.
