Oregon-bound cargo ship adrift in gale, heavy seas off Alaska

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) — An Indian cargo ship has stalled in stormy weather off Alaska, McClatchy News Service and the Juneau Empire newspaper reported. The APJ Surjavi is adrift 544 miles southwest of Adak in 30-foot seas. Good Samaritan ship Maersk Altair is on its way to assist the Oregon-bound freighter.
