NYC to hire Anselectric to maintain SI Ferry boats (PHOTO)

(STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.) — The city of New York plans to sign a new contract with an engineering company that will help maintain the propulsion systems in three Staten Island Ferry boats, the Staten Island Advance newspaper reporter. Anselectric LLC of Houston is getting the job because it manufactures the drive components and can oversee the complex software and hardware for the three Molinari-class ferries, the newest in the fleet. The city’s Department of Transportation says Anselectric is the only company qualified for the work, but officials invite other providers to contact the city if they think they qualify.
