(PORTLAND, Maine) — The ferry Nova Star sailed out of Portland on Thursday night on its maiden voyage to Nova Scotia, restoring service that was severed five years ago, the Portland Press Herald reported. The 528-foot ship, which has a capacity of 1,200 passengers, was carrying about 300 passengers, 130 crewmembers and 81 vehicles. Nova Star will provide daily round-trip service to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, through Oct. 31.
