Notorious Puget Sound derelict vessel finally being scrapped

(OLYMPIA, Wash.) — A derelict vessel that had confounded mariners in the South Sound area for years is finally being scrapped, the Olympian newspaper reported. The 185-foot Kopcakoe, a steel-hulled former Russian fishing vessel, is being taken apart at Seattle’s Stabbert Yacht & Ship yard. The nuisance ship spent two years beached at Gallagher Cove after its owner moved it there without Coast Guard permission.
