Norway fines Bourbon Offshore $760K for 2007 tug capsizing

(ABERDEEN, Scotland) — Norway has fined Bourbon Offshore about $760,000 for the 2007 capsizing of the tug Bourbon Dolphin, which killed eight mariners, the Press and Journal newspaper reported. The fine was instituted because the company failed to give the master enough time to familiarize himself with the vessel and assignment before the ill-fated anchor-handling job off Shetland.
