(ROSEBURG, OR – APRIL 24, 2008) – North River Boats, Inc., builder of aluminum workboats, announced the award of a contract to supply Wayne County, Mich., with four Rigid Aluminum Inflatable Vessels (RAIV) boats totaling just under $1 million dollars. The contract was awarded after a lengthy design process customizing the vessels to the unique needs of Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
Each boat under this contract will be built with similar configurations. The four boats are 32-by-12-foot beam RAIVs powered with twin Yamaha outboard motors. They will incorporate an enclosed cabin, inflatable tubes, substantial electronic equipment and a generator to support law enforcement needs.
