The following is the text of a news release from the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA):
(WASHINGTON) — The Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS) is pleased to announce the 2015 Maritime Award of the Americas organized in collaboration with the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA), the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM), the Department of Sustainable Development (DSD), and the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Department of Economic and Social Development (DDES) of the OAS Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI).
In addition to recognizing successful practices that demonstrate excellence, innovation and sustainability in the maritime and port sectors throughout the Americas, the award aims at promoting innovative, competitive, safe and sustainable port development.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, Sept. 14.
