(MARYSTOWN, Newfoundland) — The Peter Kiewit Sons Co. shipyard will not received a previously planned contract to build 12 patrol boats for the Canadian Coast Guard, CBC reported. The shipyard also lost a contract to build Joint Support Ship military vessels. The government said the bids came in too high. Marystown’s mayor said the community had expected to gain 700 jobs from those contracts.
