(WAREHAM, MA — October 29, 2007) Platinum, multi-dimensional electronic cartography from Navionics, has won the 2007 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Industry Award in the Marine Specialty category.

The award recognized Platinum charts for excellence in innovation, design, performance and reliability in marine navigation. Award winners are selected by a secret ballot vote of NMEA members, made up of distributors, dealers, sales representatives, and other industry professionals.

Platinum is the first multi-dimensional charting and navigation product available for chartplotters. It combines navigation chart detail with satellite and high-aerial photo overlays, 3-D bathymetric views, panoramic photos of ports and marinas, port services, U.S. coastal pilot guides, coastal road networks with key points of interest, and more.

Platinum Charts are available in Navionics’ XL3-size coverage on 2GB CF and SD media cards compatible with today’s leading chartplotter manufacturers such as Humminbird, Lowrance, Northstar and Raymarine.

“We are very proud to have Platinum honored and to receive this prestigious NMEA award,” said Bob Moshiri, vice president of sales and marketing, Navionics. “To have Platinum recognized again by our peers in the marine industry is a testament to Navionics’ drive for continuous innovation.”
