(SYRACUSE, N.Y.) — A man who grounded a tugboat in Lake Ontario last year had a falsified merchant marine license, The Post-Standard reported. Mark Anselm, 37, of Clayton, N.Y., pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to six felonies, including making false statements to the Coast Guard and using an altered merchant marine license. Anselm admitted presenting himself as a licensed commercial ship pilot to marina owners, federal officials and potential employers when he had no such license.
