Muskegon harbor newly dredged, but contractor misses a spot

(MUSKEGON, Mich.) — Muskegon’s harbor is a deepwater port again after a dredging operation cleared shoaling from the shipping channel, the Muskegon Chronicle reported. The project was expedited after four lakers were delayed during the most recent shipping season. The channel depth has been restored to 30 feet, but the contractor missed a spot and there is an area that is just 26 feet deep.
