(NEW YORK) — Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced expanded ferry service for New York City's five boroughs, DNAinfo reported. The new routes include Astoria, southern Brooklyn, the Lower East Side, Soundview in The Bronx and Rockaway Beach. The ferries will be operated and funded by the city and are expected to begin service in 2017.
