Mass. Maritime plans $7 million energy project

(BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.) — Massachusetts Maritime Academy is planning a $7 million energy project to help gauge the potential for generating electricity from ocean current, the Cape Cod Times reported. A dock extending toward the Cape Cod Canal will give energy companies a place to see how their turbines perform underwater. The project will include aquaculture pens and a system to lower turbines to the seabed.
