Marquette Transportation selects Jeppesen Workboat Navigator for 80-boat fleet

(ENGLEWOOD, CO — November 6, 2007) Marquette Transportation Company, headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky, has selected Jeppesen Workboat Navigator for its fleet of over 80 inland towboats.

Jeppesen Workboat Navigator is an information service that provides mariners with a combination of detailed vector-based digital marine charts, location-based data such as Notices to Mariners, and input from onboard sensors, such as GPS, radar, AIS, heading sensors, and onboard cameras.  Developed specifically for commercial vessels operating in coastal and inland waterways, it provides weekly data updates so charts remain current and provide the most accurate information possible.

Jeppesen Workboat Navigator delivers a host of advanced features including River ETA to assist with planning arrival times, River AIS to predict passing locations, the ability to easily keep AIS information up to date with an easy-to-use interface, and much more. Comprehensive 24×7 service and support is also included.

As one of the nation’s larger inland river transporters, Marquette transports agricultural products, aggregates, liquids and construction products to points along America’s inland waterway network.

“We are very happy with the initial trial results and we look forward to deploying Jeppesen Workboat Navigator across our fleet in the coming months,” said John Eckstein, Marquette president.
