(COVINGTON, La.) — River pilots are using simulators to test proposed bridges over the Mississippi River, the Advocate newspaper reported. The Maritime Pilots Institute hosted exercises that allowed pilots to practice navigating between the bridge piers. One pilot said he preferred to see one of the piers built on the shore.
