Maine Maritime ship rescues sailor off Nova Scotia

(CASTINE, Maine) — Cadets and other crewmembers aboard Maine Maritime Academy's training vessel rescued a sailor Wednesday about 600 miles off Nova Scotia, the Bangor Daily News reported. The 500-foot State of Maine was on its 90-day annual training cruise when the U.S. Coast Guard notified the crew that the sailboat Prodigal, which had structural damage, had radioed for help.
