(CASTINE, Maine) — Mariners aboard State of Maine, the training ship operated by Maine Maritime Academy, paid tribute to the crew of the cargo ship El Faro on Thursday morning at the site of the sinking, the Bangor Daily News reported. State of Maine, carrying 210 students and crewmembers, paused during its voyage to St. Croix and held a memorial ceremony. Five Maine Maritime graduates were among the 33 crewmembers who died when El Faro sank on Oct. 1.
