Maine lake cruise boat to receive overhaul on bed of barges

(GREENVILLE, Maine) — The Moosehead Lake cruise boat SS Katahdin will be dry-docked for the first time in 20 years, the Bangor Daily News reported. A special bed of pinned-together barges is being prepared to allow the "Kate" to receive a hull and keel overhaul. The boat, constructed in 1914, is the oldest remaining vessel afloat that was built at Bath Iron Works.
