Leaking chemical sickens ship crew at B.C.'s Deltaport

(LADNER, British Columbia) — Crewmembers aboard a ship docked at Deltaport became sickened by chemical fumes coming from cargo, the Delta Optimist newspaper reported. Hazardous materials teams were summoned to the ship to remove the offending cargo, which was an unidentified substance emitting an odor from a container. The crew reported dizziness and nausea, and the port was closed for most of the day to accommodate the response.
