Lake Superior could freeze over for first time in decades

(DULUTH, Minn.) — Lake Superior is approaching record ice coverage as a brutal cold snap continues to grip the region, Fox News reported. In a typical winter about 30 percent of the lake freezes over, but experts said the lake was more than 87 percent covered this week. “It’s probably been the toughest winter we’ve had in about 24 years," said Robert Lewis-Manning, president of the Canadian Shipowners Association.
