(SUPERIOR, Wis.) — Lake Assault Boats has secured a $6.2 million contract to build 43 barges for San Antonio's tourist River Walk, WDIO News reported. The aluminum vessels will be 27 feet long, 9 feet wide and have the capacity for about 40 passengers. Lake Assault is in the process of building the beta model, with initial testing to follow on the St. Louis River and deliveries by the end of 2017. The barges will be manufactured at Lake Assault's headquarters at Fraser shipyards in Superior.
