L’Acadien II’s life raft finally recovered off Nova Scotia

(OTTAWA) — Canadian maritime authorities have completed a draft investigative report into the fatal accident involving the sealing vessel L’Acadien II, Canwest News Service reported. The Transportation Safety Board is not releasing the report yet because it is giving witnesses a month to comment on the accuracy of the confidential draft. Four men died in the March 2008 towing accident off eastern Canada. L’Acadien II’s life raft and several survival suits finally were found last month off the Nova Scotia coast. The TSB’s investigation included simulations and re-enactments of the towing accident.
