(KINGS POINT, N.Y.) — A U.S. Merchant Marine Academy professor won't be fired for his recent joke about the Aurora, Colo., mass shooting, the New York Times reported. Instead, he had bee suspended for 45 days. The professor made a joke about the shooting during a class that included the son of a man who was killed in the movie-theater attack.
