(BOSTON) — A Japanese whaling ship clashed with and sank a U.S. based anti-whaling activist vessel, the Christian Science Monitor newspaper reported. The $2 million vessel Ady Gil was lost after being rammed by the larger ship, according to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. It’s just the latest in a long line of confrontations involving the “Whale Wars” society’s ships, which attempt to thwart the harvesting of whales around the world.
