(NEW BEDFORD, Mass.) — Imtra has announced that its line of Side-Power DC, AC and hydraulic thrusters are plug-and-play compatible with most joystick brands.
Side-Power has worked closely with major joystick manufacturers to enable seamless integration with many control systems. The brand’s S-Link Gateway provides the communication link between the thruster and joystick system to enable simple and intuitive installation and use. Using the S-Link Gateway, yacht builders can connect their choice of almost any joystick supplier to any Side-Power thruster — whether DC, hydraulic, or AC powered; bow or stern; tunnel or retracting style. Thruster systems can also be used in combination installations, such as DC and hydraulic, providing users precise proportional control.
Imtra is ready to assist boat builders and other joystick manufacturers with integrating Side-Power thrusters into their vessels. Currently, these joysticks integrate with Xenta Systems, ZF Marine, Volvo Penta, Express Joystick System by Twin Disc, Glendinning, MTU and Yacht Controller Joysticks, to name a few.
