Hull damage, fire hazards strand cruise ship in New York

(NEW YORK) — A cruise ship with almost 1,000 passengers is stranded in New York City after the Coast Guard found more than 60 safety problems, the New York Times reported. The Clipper Pacific was in the midst of a round-the-world cruise when it reported hull damage. Coast Guard inspectors also identified fire hazards and unsafe lifeboats and life jackets aboard the 637-foot vessel.
