Holed towboat refloated two weeks after sinking in Iowa

(LECLAIRE, Iowa) — The towboat Stephen L. Colby, which sank more than two weeks ago after striking a submerged object in the Mississippi River, has been patched and refloated, the Quad-City Times reported. U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Colin Fogarty said three holes were repaired, including a 12-by-30-inch gash. The towboat Penny Eckstein is towing Stephen L. Colby about 300 miles downriver to a commercial repair facility in Wood River, Ill.
