Henry Marine Service files for bankruptcy protection (PHOTOS)

(STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.) — Henry Marine Service Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the Staten Island Advance newspaper reported. The Staten Island-based tugboat company is well known as the first maritime firm to respond to the 2003 Staten Island Ferry accident, with its tug Dorothy J. The company will survive and is working out a payment plan with the Internal Revenue Service for back taxes, according to an attorney representing Henry Marine.
