Grounded freighter halts seaway traffic in N.Y.

(MASSENA, N.Y.) — Shipping has resumed on the St. Lawrence Seaway after the Canadian-registered freighter Algoma Spirit was refloated Sunday night, WWNY TV 7 reported. The ship ran aground Saturday afternoon east of the Seaway International Bridge after losing power due to an electrical problem. Twelve vessels were delayed.
