(HOLLAND, Mich.) — The laker Algoport split in two and sank in the Pacific Ocean while being towed to a China shipyard for a refit, the Holland Sentinel reported. The 658-foot Canadian-flagged self-unloader was being towed by the tug Atlantic Hickory when it encountered a tropical storm and broke apart. Seaway Marine Group is Algoport’s owner.
