Four barges sink after hitting Vicksburg bridge (with VIDEO)

(VICKSBURG, Miss.) — Four barges sank in the swollen Mississippi River on Tuesday morning after striking the U.S. 80 railroad bridge, WAPT News reported. Other barges in Ron W. Callegan's 22-barge tow, loaded with coal and grain, broke free and were retrieved. The railroad bridge was closed until damage could be assessed.
