(PORT WELLER, Ontario) — Navicula, a former fisheries research vessel, sank at a Welland Canal marina Friday night, the St. Catharines Standard reported. The 65-foot boat had been towed from Toronto and was slated for salvage. The general manager of the marina believes ice formed in one of the intakes, which then burst and filled the boat with water.
