First saltie of the season makes port in Duluth


(DULUTH, Minn.) — The first oceangoing vessel of the 2015 commercial shipping season arrived in the Port of Duluth-Superior on Monday, the Duluth News Tribune reported. The 465-foot bulk carrier Kom sailed under the Aerial Lift Bridge shortly after noon. The saltie will load 12,100 metric tons of durum wheat and then depart for Italy.
